Service

On the 29/11/1940 the Caroline Moller’s services were called upon in the English Channel. There had been a conflict between German and Royal Naval destroyers. During the exchange of fire that ensued, the RN destroyer Javelin had been badly damaged. Her total length of 356ft being reduced to some 155ft. The Caroline Moller towed HMS Javelin into Plymouth. Repairs to the Javelin took 13 months. At the time the captain of the Javalin was Louis Mountbatten, later to become Lord Mountbatten.
